STEYN CITY NIGHT RUN CHAMPIONSHIP

PARTICIPANT AND SPECTATOR INDEMNITY, WAIVER AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK

By entering, purchasing a ticket for, participating in or attending the Steyn City Night Run Championship, organised by In-Reach Lifestyle at Steyn City on 21 November 2026, which includes 5km and 10km night run/walk routes and a race village with music and entertainment, I hereby acknowledge, confirm and agree as follows:

I understand that participating in or attending the event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

• physical exertion and fatigue;
• running or walking after dark, in low light and with reduced visibility;
• uneven surfaces, kerbs, steps, path edges and other obstacles;
• other participants, spectators, cyclists or vehicles on or near the route;
• crowds, loud music, lighting and effects in the race village;
• exposure to weather conditions;
• potential illness, injury, accident or death.

I confirm that I am in good health and physically capable of participating. I voluntarily assume full responsibility for all risks associated with my participation or attendance.

I hereby waive and abandon, to the fullest extent permitted by law, any claim of whatsoever nature, whether arising in contract, delict, statute or otherwise, that I may have now or in future against In-Reach Lifestyle, the Steyn City Property Owners’ Association and its associated management companies, and their respective directors, members, trustees, officers, employees, contractors, agents, residents, volunteers, and all associated event sponsors, suppliers and partners, collectively referred to as the “Indemnified Parties”, arising directly or indirectly from my participation in or attendance at the event.

Without limiting the above, I specifically indemnify and hold harmless the Indemnified Parties from and against any loss, injury, illness, death, damage, liability or cost I may suffer or incur, howsoever arising, including but not limited to any claim resulting from:

• the use of routes, paths, roads, venues or facilities;
• lighting conditions, visibility or the event taking place at night;
• my own actions or omissions;
• the actions or omissions of any other participant or spectator;
• the consumption of food or alcohol at the event;
• loss of or damage to personal belongings.

• I undertake to follow all instructions provided by In-Reach Lifestyle, Steyn City management and security, marshals, medical personnel and event officials, and to remain on the marked route.
• I acknowledge that participation and attendance are voluntary and at my own risk and discretion.
• This indemnity is binding upon me, my estate, heirs, dependants and assigns.
• I consent to photographs, video and other media taken during the event in which I may appear being used by In-Reach Lifestyle, Steyn City, and the event sponsors and partners for event, marketing, promotional, publicity and social media purposes, without compensation.
• I consent to my personal information being collected and used for purposes related to the event, including registration, communication, timing, results, safety, medical assistance, emergency contact purposes, event administration and related event communication.
• I confirm that I have read and understood the content of this indemnity and accept it freely and voluntarily.
• By completing my entry, purchasing a ticket, accepting a ticket, or participating in or attending the event, I acknowledge and agree that I am bound by this indemnity, waiver and assumption of risk as if I had signed it in writing.

MINORS AND GUARDIAN CONSENT

Applicable if the participant or attendee is under 18 years of age

Where the participant or attendee is under 18 years of age, I, the parent or legal guardian of the minor, hereby acknowledge, confirm and agree as follows:

• I consent to the minor’s participation in or attendance at the event.
• I confirm that I am the parent/legal guardian of the minor and that I am legally authorised to provide this consent.
• I confirm that I have read and understood this indemnity and agree to be bound by its terms on behalf of myself and the minor.
• I assume full responsibility for all risks associated with the minor’s participation or attendance.
• I indemnify and hold harmless the Indemnified Parties against any claim arising from or related to the minor’s participation or attendance.
• I confirm that the minor is medically fit and physically capable of participating.
• I consent to emergency medical assistance, treatment or transport being arranged for the minor if reasonably required.
• By completing the entry, purchasing a ticket, accepting a ticket, or allowing the minor to participate in or attend the event, I acknowledge and agree that I am bound by this indemnity, waiver and assumption of risk as if I had signed it in writing.
